Get to know Sarah Shively, Maven Bid Assistant and event photographer with Marquam Auction Agency. Sarah adores benefit auction work and the inherent generosity of the industry – she strongly believes Portland has some of the kindest organizations that exist anywhere and considers it a joy to see their work in action!

Sarah earned her undergraduate degree from Oberlin College and holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Professional Actor Training Program at UNC-Chapel Hill. She’s a proud member of the Actors Equity Association and SAG-AFTRA. Sarah shines behind the camera as well – while living in New York, she launched a production company that focused on short videos. These days, she and her wife remain active in video production, producing videos for real estate communities, the tech industry and the benefit auction world.

A true lifelong learner, Sarah Shively holds a Certificate in Intercultural Training from Portland State University and is currently taking online courses through IdeoU for a Certificate degree in Creative Leadership. She formerly taught English as a Second Language at Columbia University, and this summer, the tireless and brainy Sarah will join Road Scholar as a Group Leader for Intergenerational Tours. She’s always been interested in and motivated by strategies for creative collaboration and group dynamics; she loves working with large groups (fundraising events) AND small (one-to-one coaching). She’s also a member of the Oregon Organizational Development Network – a passionate, global network of folks committed to positive change and community building. She’s a great fit here at MAA and we’re thrilled she’s been a part of the family since 2017!
